History

Current owner and President, David C. Lykins (Dave), began his career in the construction field as an operating engineer. After working for different contractors in the central Indiana area, Lykins Contracting was founded in 1984. Serving the residential and private development market, Lykins quickly earned a reputation for completing, not only timely work, but quality work.

Lykins expanded into the municipal field, working for many cities and towns in our tri-state area. In 1996, Lykins Contracting became an Indiana Corporation and continues today to serve Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, meeting the needs of your underground infrastructure.

The second generation of ownership transition began in 2011. After a lifetime of experience around the company, current Vice President, David J. Lykins (Crock) has overseen the day-to-day operations of the company since 2014. Continuing the foundation of his father, Crock has continued to grow the company based on quality work with quality employees and the tradition of hard work.

Striving toward the future, the company has advanced technologically in the office and the field to improve the solid foundation, while planning for the third generation of Lykins leadership.
